BOARD OF EDUCATION DISTRICT GOALS 2007 - 2008:
   

From January 22, 2008 Agenda

  • To hire a Superintendent to start working in Plainfield by July 1, 2008.
  • To hire a Business Administrator/Board Secretary and HS Principal ASAP.
  • To begin the QSAC remediation and be in compliance within the six month period.
  • To adhere to all Board policies and bylaws (including confidentiality and e-mail communication).
   
1. The district shall implement its Corrective Action Plan in light of the findings of the NJQSAC Report in the area of personnel by hiring teaching staff members, 100% of whom hold the proper certification endorsements.


2. The district shall implement its Corrective Action Plan in light of the findings of the NJQSAC Report in the area of curriculum by insuring that each teacher has in his/her classroom and follows the district's curriculum guides.

3. There shall be at least a 50% increase in the number of schools meeting the AYP as set forth by Federal and State regulations.

Goal:      Improve test scores at the middle and high school level
Goal:      Improve AYP status for language arts at the elementary level

Safety and Security:
Goal:     Increase expectations and engagement of students in a productive classroom environment

Community Relations:
Goal:     Establish a community planning day.
Goal:     Expand key communicator program to include informal community leaders.
