Dear Friends, Colleagues, and Community Leaders
The School Based Youth Services Program is spearheading the Seventh Annual Cardinals Cedarbrook Park 5K Run & Health Walk on Saturday, May 10, 2008. Proceeds from this fundraiser event support operations and provide educational resources for School Based Youth Services: Plainfield Teen Parenting Program (SBYS: PTPP) and its Infant/Toddler program. We are soliciting the help of everyone in Plainfield and surrounding areas to make this run a success. Would you consider supporting the run by:
1) Participating in the walk or run
2) Providing a financial contribution or
3) Volunteering to help out at the run
You may already know that SBYS: PTPP, Inc. is an outstanding 501 (c) 3 Not-for-Profit Program. It has been supporting young parents and their children in Plainfield High School since 1989. It has a phenomenal record of service. Since its inception more than 500 parents have participated in the program, 92% of eligible seniors have graduated from the program, most of the graduates are attending college and/or are working in meaningful jobs, and most of their children are doing very well in school. This program is so successful at helping teen parents break the cycle of child abuse and repeat pregnancies that it has been replicated in twelve cities in NJ and recognized nationally and internationally. Our current goals are focused on pregnancy prevention in both the middle and high school programs.
Certainly we will be grateful for any support that you can provide on our behalf. This is truly a worthwhile program. The event details are below and a registration form is attached. We do hope to see you and your family there.
