Human Resources Application Process
The Plainfield Board of Education voted on Monday May 5, 2008 to abolish a multitude of job descriptions and positions as they currently exist. These actions take effect as of June 30, 2008. With the same vote on the consent agenda for Human Resources, a slate of new administrative positions were adopted. The Business Administrator and the Interim Superintendent of Schools Dr. Bailey developed the new job descriptions/ positions after extensive discussion and consideration. As explained by Dr. Bailey, these new positions/ descriptions reflect a modified organizational structure for the district that is driven by a refined focus on the educational support of the district children towards greater student achievement in accordance with State Statutes 6A. Consequently, the revised infrastructure lends itself to increased accountability at all levels of administration. As mentioned in the 2008-2009 School Budget Development and Review process, these administrative reductions are expected to yield up to $1 million in savings to the district.
What Happens Next?
On May 6, 2008, the New Positions were posted on the District Website. All internal candidates who meet the outlined qualifications and possess the necessary credentials are encouraged to apply for the new postings.

Five days have been granted for submitting job applications for these positions. At 5 pm on May 12, 2008, the time period for the internal submission of applications will cease and the review of applications will begin. The expectation is that internal candidates will fill most positions. If however, after review and consideration, an internal candidate is not selected, the candidate search will be extended beyond district personnel and opened to external candidates.
The Superintendent of Schools will be holding a Q&A Session on May 8, 2008 from 3:30 PM- 5 PM at the ESC Building for District Personnel who may have more specific questions regarding this area of interest.
