Congratulations to the Cast & Crew of the PHS presentation of Zooman and the Sign, a play by Charles Fuller.

Zooman and the Sign, written by Pulitzer Prize winning playwright Charles Fuller, is a compelling, urban drama that seeks to dissect the danger of forskaing community. With strikingly honest dialgoue and action, Zooman asks the question, What happens when individuals neglect the work of building community? Is it inevitable that their neigbhorhoods will turn into zoos, places marked by rampant confusion and disorder? In Fuller's drama, we meet Zooman, a confused, misguided black teen who senselessly terrorizes his community. His most recent crime is the accidental killing of a twelve year-old black girl on a street filled with people who are afraid to identify him. The girl's father (Reuben Tate) hangs a sign above his front porch accusing the community of cowardice, but his neigbors still won't step forward. Instead, they accuse Reuben of giving the Black community a bad name and threaten him with violence of their own. A powerful and timely piece, one capable of impacting teens.

Cast: Zooman--Larry Peterman, Reuben Tate--Corey White, Rachel Tate--Brittani Noel, Emmett Tate--Anthony Calhoun, Victor Tate--Jared Drakeford Russell Adams--Joshua Jackson, Ash Boswell--Debra Shider, Grace Georges--Ladonna Moaney, Donald Jackson--Robert Devarona.
