Grading

Students will be assigned problems each chapter and may have some additional homework grades depending on topic.   After the completion of each chapter, students will take a quiz, and after finishing two or three chapters, the students will have an exam similar in setup to the AP Exam.  The questions will include multiple-choice, multi-part problems, short answer, and essay.   All labs will be included in the lab notebook, and students will complete a formal lab report for each.

Attendance and Homework

All assignments must be turned in on time to receive full credit.   Once an assignment is submitted, it will not be returned until it is graded.   Some assignments will not be accepted after the due date while others can be submitted the NEXT DAY OF SCHOOL for half credit. When students miss class, assignments must be submitted ON THE DAY they return to class.   It is your responsibility to find out what was done while you were absent so please come see me sometime during the school day.   In cases where students miss extended periods of time, I will be flexible but please come talk to me about your situation.

Tardy Policy

A student will be counted tardy if he/she is not in his/her seat when the bell sounds to begin class.   Tar dies will be dealt with according to the school policy.

Students in AP Chemistry are expected to take the AP Chemistry Exam in May.
