To continue the effective implementation of Plainfield’s Standards for a Balanced Literacy Program for all students, including Special Education and English Language Learners in grades PreK-12.

To continue the successful implementation of the National Science Foundation’s standards-based mathematics and science programs for all students, including Special Education and English Language Learners in grades PreK-12.

To embrace each of our ELL students as a unique individual with the potential to become a contributing and productive citizen in our society, while simultaneously fostering a positive self-image of their cultural heritage and native language.

To provide ELL students with access to equitable educational opportunities from Kindergarten through grade 12 while creating an educational environment which fosters cognitive development in all subject areas.

To ensure that students of limited English proficiency are provided instruction in a language they understand in order to help them develop academic skills while acquiring English language skills.

To implement an academic model that sets high expectations for all students and ensures that they receive a rich and demanding curriculum with appropriate assistance and support.
