| Grandparents Support Luncheon |

Consistent with Goal 5: Community and Family Engagement of the 2008-2012 District Strategic Plan, the Plainfield Family Success Center (PFSC) sponsored a Grandparents Support Luncheon on Wednesday, July 21, 2010. This initiative, sponsored by the Office of Student Intervention & Family Support Services, provides an opportunity bring grandparents, who are raising their grandchildren, together to network and to support the families in whatever their needs are. Often, guest speakers are invited to speak on topics of interest to the group. Last month, a representative from the Department of Human Services’, Kinship program spoke about resources available to the group to assist them in many areas. During this week’s luncheon, information was also given for those interested in summer work for their qualified teens during the summer. The group had a chance to share on other topics that they are very interested in having at the meetings for the coming months. The group meets every third (3rd) Wednesday of each month, from 12:30-1:30pm. Special thanks to Ms. Dale Munn, Coordinator of Student Intervention & Family Support Services, for her leadership in this effort. |

| Educational Services Update |

Consistent with Goal 1: Learning Outcomes of the 2008-2012 District Strategic Plan, the Office of Educational Services continues to work on curriculum updates and revisions. In addition, the department has begun constructing assessment handbook for teachers and informational pamphlets for parents. Professional learning opportunities are being secured for all stakeholders. |
