Mission Statement

The mission of the Office of Intervention Programs is to improve academic, social and emotional outcomes for every PPS student by implementing a multi-tiered system of support and increasing the collective capacity of district and community stakeholders.

 

The Office of Intervention Programs provides coordination for programs designed to support the academic and behavior needs of students through the Multi-Tiered System of Supports (MTSS). MTSS is defined as a prevention-based framework of team-driven data-based problem solving for improving the outcomes of every student through family, school, and community partnering and a layered continuum of evidence-based practices applied at the classroom, school, and district level.

 

The Office of Interventions oversees the fidelity of implementation of the following areas:

  • Academic Support in Math
  • Academic Support in Reading
  • At-Risk Student Identification
  • Dyslexia Intervention/Orton-Gillingham
  • IR&S guidelines and recommendations
  • Positive behavioral interventions and supports (PBIS)
  • Response to Intervention (RTI)
  • State Compliance for K-2 Universal Screening (Chapter 210, NJ Law)
  • Social and Emotional Learning
